Modern Tonic was created by Craig Karpel, Ari Karpel and Marc Mannino. Craig Karpel is founder of The Karpel Group, a respected publicity and marketing firm with noted expertise in targeting the LGBT audience through media and marketing initiatives; Ari Karpel, who also acts as editorial director, is a former senior editor at Entertainment Weekly whose byline appears regularly in The New York Times, The Advocate and other publications; Marc Mannino, was a marketing vice-president and partner at The Karpel Group from 1997-2010. Modern Tonic’s editorial decisions are and will always be made independent of the interests of The Karpel Group and its clients. Vinny Moschetta oversees all of our advertising and marketing initiatives and is an integral member of our team.

We are advertiser-supported. None of the editorial on Modern Tonic can be bought in any way. We have an independent editorial board that makes its considerations entirely separate from and unaware of any advertising deals.

Occasionally, we may send an email that has been bought and paid for by an advertiser, usually about something that we would want you to know about.
