Modern Tonic was originally created by brothers Craig Karpel, founder of The Karpel Group, and Ari Karpel, a writer and editor whose byline appears regularly in The New York Times, The Advocate, Fast Company and other publications, with the invaluable input and influence of several people, including Vinny Moschetta, Marc Mannino, Steven Scott and Steve Newman. The site is currently overseen by Craig Karpel.
We are happy to say that we work (or have worked) with some of the most fantastic writers around, and this site would not be what it is without their invaluable work. Among them are, in alphabetical order, Melissa Rose Bernardo, Alonso Duralde, Smith Galtney, Claire Heath, Jonathan Higbee, Christopher Lisotta, Dan Loughry, Justin Ocean and Grant Sloss.
The Karpel Group is a respected publicity and marketing firm with noted expertise in targeting the LGBT audience through media and marketing initiatives.
